- Barcelona-based Onna Technologies raised €9.8 million for its internal enterprise search engine. The round was led by Dawn Capital, with participation from Dropbox, the Slack Fund, and existing early investor, Nauta Capital
- Travel store Pangea raised €9 million from Axon Partners. The company combines an offline retail and online travel agency strategy
- Barcelona-based fintech startup Verse raised €7 million. The round was led by Greycroft Partners and other funds also participated, such as Expon Capital, Nikesh Arora, Alan Patricof (founder of Apax Partners), Martin Varsavsky, David Stern (former director of the NBA) and Charlie Songhurst
- Barcelona-based lifelong learning startup Learnlife raised €3.1 million
- Insurtech startup SingularCover raised €1.8 million from Antai Venture Builder and German investor Global Founders Capital
- Mutua Madrileña acquired a 10% stake in Chipi, a Madrid-based startup that aggregates urban transportation services
- Energy startup Ingelia raised €500,000 from EIT InnoEnergy
- Brand management platform BeAmbassador raised €150,000 via equity crowdfunding platform Adventurees
- According to El Referente, Spanish startups raised a combined €28 million in May 2019, across 13 investments
Startup exits 🎊
- German electric scooter company Flash acquired Spanish competitor Koko. As a consequence of the transaction, Flash now owns 26% of all escooter licenses in Madrid
- Idealista completed the acquisition of 100% of TerceroB for €5 million. TerceroB focuses on data analysis
- Swiss company Euronovate acquired 100% of Spanish Víntegris to improve their digital certification solutions and increase its presence in the European market

The number of investments in Spanish B2B SaaS startups has increased significantly in the past few years.
