  • Barcelona-based Lodgify, the SaaS for vacation rentals, raised $5 million in Series A funding from Nauta Capital, Howzat Partners and new investor Intermedia Vermögensverwaltung
  • Barcelona-based agritech company Agroptima raised €1.2 million from Athos Capital and ESADE BAN
  • Ship2B Tech4Climate startup Ciclogreen raises €245,000
  • Energy investing startup Fundeen raised €120,000
  • Smart forms startup Arengu raised funding from Grupo Viko
  • Madrid-based proptech startup Spotahome recently raised $40 million from Silicon Valley VC Kleiner Perkins. Now it’s been disclosed that a bunch of high profile angels also joined the round, including Travis Kalanick (former CEO of Uber), Drew Houston (co-founder and CEO of Dropbox) and Jeremy Stoppelman (co-founder of Yelp), among others

Startup exits 🎊

  • Lyft reportedly in talks to buy Spain’s Cabify for $3 billion. The company has denied the rumors
  • One of the bigger exits in the history of Spanish tech: AT&T to acquire AlienVault for between $500 and $800 million. The company was born in Madrid in 2007 but ended up moving its headquarters to the US a few years later. The first investor to back the company was Madrid-based Adara Ventures. Both La Informacion and El Confidencial published interesting articles about the company’s history
