  • Telefonica posted earnings report for Q1 2018. Despite revenues being down by 7.2%, the telco increased its profits by 7.4%, to €837 million. What’s definitely increasing for Telefonica is its B2B business. The company also announced an aggressive stock option plan for its top executives
  • El País Retina published a profile of Alpha, Telefonica’s moonshot division
  • Amazon opened its ‘Seller Support Hub’ in Barcelona, to be focused on providing help to SMEs from Southern Europe
  • BBVA completed a pilot that issued a €75 million ($91 million) corporate loan using two different blockchains
  • BBVA and Evo Banco to integrate Apple Pay
  • Spanish telcos that want to broadcast football matches on their platform will be forced by La Liga to also offer consumers the possibility of watching them online
